No Consumer Reporting Agency. New Jersey Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Neither its material nor results supplied by a linked search provider may be used for decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, or any other purpose regulated by the FCRA.
Changes and Accuracy
New Jersey records, office procedures, portal fees, and collection locations can change. County services also vary across the state's 21 counties, and annual assessment lists may lag later ownership changes. We try to maintain these references, but details can be out of date; check with the custodian before relying on a record.
No Legal Advice
Nothing here should be treated as legal advice. The information describes New Jersey record sources and directories in general terms, and it does not replace advice from a licensed attorney.
Use Records Lawfully
Public information must not be used to stalk, harass, threaten, or harm anyone. New Jersey's stalking statute is N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10, and its harassment law is N.J.S.A. 2C:33-4. The federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), 18 U.S.C. ยงยง 2721-2725, limits access to personal motor vehicle data. Misuse also breaches these Terms of Use.
Outside Search Providers
Some search boxes are operated by outside providers. We do not set their results, prices, or data practices, and a result from those tools is not a consumer report under the FCRA.
Links to Other Sources
Links may lead to municipal assessor pages, county Clerk or Register offices, election offices, court searches, libraries, or the New Jersey State Archives. Each outside source controls its own content, accuracy, and availability.
Records Stay with Their Keepers
This reference does not store New Jersey government rolls, historic directory volumes, court files, or vital records. It directs readers to public offices, libraries, archives, and official portals. To obtain, verify, or correct a record, contact the custodian that holds it.
