1. About This Reference
New Jersey Residents Directory is run privately and provides information about public rolls, record indexes, and historical directories related to New Jersey. Government records remain with the agencies and collections that created them. This directory is not operated by, or affiliated with, a government office, court, or records custodian.
2. Lawful Use
Use this reference and any information reached through it only in ways allowed by law. Prohibited uses include:
- Follow, stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or hurt another person
- Find a person who is protected by a restraining or protective order
- Carry out identity theft, fraud, or impersonation
- Make a decision governed by the FCRA, including one about credit, employment, housing, or insurance
- Copy, scrape, or republish site material in bulk
- Disrupt the service or try to defeat its security
New Jersey law addresses stalking at N.J.S.A. 2C:12-10 and harassment at N.J.S.A. 2C:33-4. The federal Driver's Privacy Protection Act (DPPA), 18 U.S.C. §§ 2721-2725, restricts access to personal motor vehicle data. An OPRA request does not override that federal limit.
3. No Consumer Reports
New Jersey Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither its content nor results from a linked search service are consumer reports. Do not use them to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Services
State and county portals, sponsored search tools, and other linked services set their own rules. We do not control their content, uptime, charges, or handling of information.
5. No Guarantee
The service is offered "as is" and "as available," without warranties. We do not promise that site details are accurate, complete, or current, or that an outside portal will be available or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
As far as applicable law permits, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special loss arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including an action taken after finding a record.
7. Responsibility for Misuse
You agree to protect the operators from claims, demands, and reasonable attorneys' fees that result from your misuse of the service or breach of these conditions.
8. Site Material
Copyright protects the original writing, design, logo, and layout here. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit; copying full pages or systematically reproducing site content is not allowed.
9. Revisions
We can revise these conditions by publishing an updated version on this page. If you keep using the site afterward, you accept the revision.
10. Restricting Access
We may limit or block access, without advance notice, when a user violates these conditions or misuses the service.
11. New Jersey Law
New Jersey law applies to these conditions, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Requests for existing records held by New Jersey public agencies are governed by the Open Public Records Act (OPRA), N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq.; this private directory is not the custodian for those records.
12. Severability
If a court finds one part of these conditions unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
